Welcome to caresource, I’m Larry Pierce, the president executive director, we like to tell you a little bit more about our company and what we can do for you.
We’ve created here at care source, we’re all about compassionate service and compassionate care to our patients. Now we do a lot of different things, we’ve been up and down for 17 and a half years and and we take care of patients that are hospice patients, which care of nursing home patients, referring patients from doctors offices.
We do so many different things, but with one focus and that is service. So we created what we call the service values and those values are the values that we live by each and every day here. At caresource, we took the word service when we broke it into an acronym and that acronym is servant, attitude, ethics, responsibility, versatility, initiative communication and enthusiasm, and these are the values that each of us in caresource live by each and every day.
The service values have not helped our patients and the families that we take care, it’s made a big difference here with our staff. I’ve had several staff members come to me and say thank you for introducing me of those values, because it’s not something that I not only take with me here at the office, but I also take it home with me.
I’ve had several spouses of some of our employees come to be in safe, you don’t know what a difference these services made in our lives, it changed the way they look at things. And it has become a culture around here, one of the things that we strive to do is to make sure that our drivers are fully indoctrinated into the care source service values, and what that means for us is that we don’t concentrate on taking them through.
So they learn the equipment, but we also want them to understand why they’re here because we want them to feel a part of the team and make sure that when they’re out there and family. And they’re interacting with the patient that they have that sense of, they’re there to serve that nation and it’s a priority for us here at yours to make sure that we’re delivering the best possible service that we can to our patients and customers, it is a competitive advantage.
We have here in pure source, compared government eme providers is that we employ approximately 13 to 14 drivers more than drivers than any of the other DME companies. We also cover a large geographic location, we cover the entire state of Oklahoma, about with the exception being the southeast part.
But what that means is that we have the ability to have drivers a certain locations throughout the state at any time, which gives us an advantage to get our deliveries or equipment, especially the oxygen out to patients much quicker than another provider will be able to do. So we’re there when they need us and we get there, we need to be there.
Recently my family and I had the opportunity to utilize care sources services when my father-in-law was dismissed from the nursing home and brought home to live the few days he had remaining at home.
His technician delivered the material to us showed up in a prompt manner and showed understanding professionalism and compassion toward the families while setting the equipment up and explain the things that my mother-in-law needed to know about the things that you’re going to be.
Using pterosaurs is one of the most altruistic companies that you can ever find, and the reason is that in 2008, I had my left knee replaced and then my under 2009, I’ve had my right knee replaced and they were very helpful. They would set me up and explain to me exactly how the CPM machine was supposed to work and it helped tremendously, they are very instructive.
They instruct to you everything that needs to be done very professional, and I recommend them highly after being in the fire service for 25 years. I’ve seen other companies and dealt with transport companies and medical transport companies that sometimes they’re there to do a job. And my belief caresource takes the time to be understanding and show compassion toward the family, doing that makes the transition from coming from a nursing home or or institution back to the house, or wherever they’re going to set things up, it soothes the fears of the family and helps them cope with situation.
I always tell our delivery drivers that take your time, one thing you need to do while you’re there is to listen to that patient, because you might be the only person that patient sees today and they have a story to tell. Now we take care of most of the patients well, they’re mostly elderly patients and as tough Tom Brokaw said they’re the greatest generation of all time.
They fought the world wars, they lifted a depression, they went through the dust bowl, they saw what most people did for us, my father-in-law was 88, he served in a couple of wars retired military and he was sent home after a major operation that he could not recover from and one spend the last few weeks at home with his family.
And they came in and made that transition as smooth as possible, and it is a great job and doing that. We’d recommend him for Breast Care source, it’s not an obligation what we do for these patients. It’s a privilege and some honor and for some of us, including myself. This has become our ministry.
So that’s what caresource is all about, we’re all about service, we want to show you how we can serves you better in the hallways of cure sore. We have some photographs of some of our patients, this helps our office staff connect with our patients and understand who they’re taken care of, because a caresource compassion service is our focus.
